Telephone pole on the route of the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton line - still with intact insulators in November 2007
This shows the structure used as the signal box at Ropley at its original home at Dean on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border - mid 1970s at a guess.
Purchased for the sum of £5
First located at the west end of Ropley station before moving east end of the station, replaced by the ex Netley box in October 2007 and now under restoration at Medstead.
March 2010, moved back to Ropley not far from where it was when it arrived on the railway, now placed by the foot crossing at the footbrige. Close to the brake van in the picture below.
